How do I know if my search volumes are right?

Posted by tryingtomakemoney28 on November 12, 2023 at 6:56 pm

I started getting a little more granular on my account setup and keyword research process. I am trying to create a system where I estimate just the right amount of monthly searches for each client depending on their spend.

    1. How do you guys usually do that?
    2. How do gauge if your client has a high or low search volume? You don’t want to be high because you are not hitting all your keywords. You don’t want to be too low since you are not getting enough data to optimize.

For example, car wash client. He will spend $50/day, 7 days a week. I do their keyword research via keyword planner to set up the ad groups. How do I know how much search volume is right for this client?

Stupid answer, but the right amount is determined by profit.

    * Am I profitable? If I can get more volume, I will want more volume – up to my own limits (sales capacity/product availability) or the limits determined by my profit margin (CPA/ROAS need to be respected).
    * Am I not getting profit from ads? It might be search related, potentially volume related, but my concerns go beyond volume.

Ads are a money printing machine until it’s not, and that’s all determined by profitability.
