As a software engineer you don’t. It’s an incredible amount of work to make one and you need network effects for them to go anywhere which means you need people to get people and it’s hard to get those initial people

Learn how to code. Get into Havard. Get rejected by some girl. Steal some idea. Create your own misogynistic website. ??? Profit.

Why? Just why? Whatever your end goal to achieve is, there is a better way to do it than this. Especially since you don’t have a new “twist” to it that you want to implement.

Obviously, in addition to technical knowledge, you need to understand what and for whom you want to create a social network?If you choose the more progressive and technological way of web3, I would go the way of decentralized social networks like Solcial. One that allows complete freedom of speech and doesn’t block users for their opinions, whatever they may be. If you want the usual centralized version of web2, then the example of Instagram, Meta, Reddit and others will help you, but it is worth adding your chips. However, you have to understand that the competition here is very high, and it will not be easy to break through.

You can but the BIG ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM is not how you make a the app but what is your USP of your app and why people even come on it… I’m not trying to discourage you but this is the most essential question you should ask first.
