  • Hootsuite 1100% Price Increase

I got a note from Hootsuite this morning that my pro account, which I’ve had since 2012, is jumping from $5.99/month to $75/month in June. I don’t use HS as much as I used to but I kept the account since the price was low and just used it sparingly.

Do you use HS regularly? If so, will you pay the new price? Do you have a suggestion for an alternative?

I had Hootsuite until they started going bonkers with their rates. I’ve started using Facebook Business Suite to schedule Facebook and Instagram posts on the advice of another Redditor, and I’m just abandoning the other social media. There was almost zero engagement on those accounts anyway, so it’s no big loss.

Yeah it’s pretty crappy. But I also just discovered FB business suite and I guess that works fine. I don’t use hootsuite enough to warrant paying that.

I used Hootsuite, but cancelled since many of the platforms I use have created their own scheduling / programming system, like FB business suite as another commenter mentioned.

There was once a time where it was useful, and depending on what kind of business you’re in, it still could be…but if you’re able to, save the $ and just schedule natively.

    That is absurd.

Hootsuite is better than the other posting software solutions I have used, but not by that much. That is way too much money.

I use HS for one client but only because the client was already familiar. Been very tempted to take them off of it but not happy with any major replacement yet enough to interrupt what’s now a smooth workflow.

Been meaning to use Facebook Business Suite but otherwise I’ve used Canva Pro some more recently and that’s my current preference for pictures. I’m not happy with video posting of any schedulers really at the moment.

I’ve experimented with later, planoly, buffer, and HS’s free versions and been able to skirt by on those personally.

However, if I get clients willing to pay for HS, I’ll do it for ease / if its within their budget. All the scheduling things I’ve tried all have their own quirks and feel weirdly priced… hence why I’m even still coasting on using free versions for myself.

I’m honestly quite disappointed with the scheduling tools out there right now. They each have their own quirks that another tool may fix but its just annoying. XD

This surely disturbs your budget plus the price increment is huge. For an alternative, I would suggest SocialBu. Since you use these tools infrequently, the basic package plan is good for you, they have the same price as Hootsuite had it back then. Also, I can customize my package according to my need there.

HootSuite has been increasing its price like crazy. RecurPost is a good alternative and offers the same features at a comparatively lower price.

I’m actually the co-founder of a social media scheduling tool called OneUp.

OneUp’s pricing is significantly more affordable than Hootsuite, and we have a lot of features that HS doesn’t have, like being able to schedule Google My Business posts.

This is why there needs to be a better social media management tool for small businesses – A small biz owner doesn’t want to pay these rates and they don’t want to spend a lot of time scheduling posts -there needs to be an intuitive phone app that can do this.

I’ve owned a social media firm for 12 years and I’m highly giving thought to crowdfunding a tool that could do this anyone interested? ?

I use sprout social and I’m quite pleased with it this is the third company I’ve used it with and it does an excellent job across all of the channels I manage.
