Hide my social media profiles from employer?
I have a lucrative side hustle and social media marketing is an important aspect to it. However, I wouldn’t want my day job folks to accidentally stumble upon my social media profiles and get the wrong idea. Any tips on how I can help safeguard against that? A

Maybe you can block all of them and your coworkers on your account. If there are better ways, I would like to follow up this sub. I have the same issue but with a poem/art account. It’s very intimate and I don’t want family and friends on it.

Making your profile private will be the best solution. However, this can also mean that your potential clients will not be able to look at your profile and will lose interest in your services.
Personally, I wouldn’t worry about this in principle, since it shouldn’t concern anyone what you do outside of working hours.

You can only block them all.
Of course they might have a friend or family that could find your businesses and might somehow come up, but how likely is that?Its a pain but I’ve done it before.

Be anonymous in your side hustle socials. No name, no selfies, no identifying info/views.

It’s definitely harder if you show your face on this profile. If you are able to keep your identity off of it, that would be easiest. Otherwise, I would say blocking if you know their accounts. However, that’s not always the most guaranteed method.

I do this by not showing my face, phone number isn’t linked to my accounts, don’t use my name or talk about my personal life that much. If you show your face though, best option is attempt to block everyone on all platforms
