Help with Meta Pixel & Shopify issue
So my client has a Shopify store and I’ve been running ads for them for a few months. The Meta Pixel was initially installed via the Shopify’s app, automatically. It stopped working well so now we decided to install the pixel all over again manually, through code, in the theme.
Now, with this new setup, the trouble is that the developer says that the pixel and events (the code) will certainly crash on next Shopify / theme update… I’m not sure I understand what he means.
Could anybody tell me why would that happen and how to prevent it?

If the theme developer changes the theme, it could break or override your custom implementation. That’s why it’s generally better to use an app.
