we currently have a headless website, our cms is storyblok. our head of marketing wants to consider migrating blog to hubspot for seo benefits. i am somewhat against this idea, i’d prefer to consider other headless cms’, such as sanity. i’m also curious about webflow… but don’t know enough about it. generally i think migrating blog to hubspot will a) mean we need to recreate the blog on hubspot to look like the rest of the webiste = dev resources, plus i’m concerend about limited functionality on hubspot and how this might inhibit future ux/ui plans for the blog… am i wrong in my concerns, i don’t know enough about it… just a marketer here ????

Headless systems will allow you the most flexibility for technical SEO and template options — however it may require more dev time to get exactly what you want. More opinionated systems will get you started more quickly, may have 80-90% of the basics covered out of the box but will have a ceiling at some point, because you can’t edit absolutely every part of the template, etc. Many times this decision at companies is also affected by the amount of developer resources or budget is available for dev work… and a lot of times the marketing blog is low on the priority list for a dev team so there ends up being a trade off there as well.

As an aside, also check out Contentful if you haven’t yet. I’ve found it to be very flexible to work with and very performant as well.
