How are hashtags a bad thing in 2024? Are hashtags different than search engine optimization keywords?

Hashtags are dead on Instagram. Nowadays it’s “keywords infusion” technique. Insert relevant keywords related to the content after the caption/context in brackets [ keywords ].

Hashtags are really good for hyper local pages but on a grand scale they don’t do much. You really want to make sure your name, bio and captions have keywords that your target audience is looking for.

For local businesses, yes. But the use of hashtags to search has kind of fallen by the wayside, and their use for marketing has gone with it. Now you can just integrate the right keywords into your post and achieve a better effect.

According to my latest research, high engagement areas do not use hastags.
