HARO Vendor Question
Do you still pay your vendor for links that went live after your engagement?
So I asked the vendor to stop all work last month because the client cancelled already.
He asked if I’ll still pay for future backlinks (with a really sad emoji) and I felt sorry for him so I said yes.
A few weeks later, he billed me for backlinks amounting to $4000!
I dunno what to do. Oh yes, I gave him my word, which turned out to be a mistake.

What was in y’all’s agreement? Don’t y’all have an agreement in writing?

Is this with an agency? Just let him know that’s not what you meant when you discussed future backlinks. Seems intentional to just bill you like that.
Just curious, are these backlinks even decent?

if you don’t get paid…there’s no service needed…so he doesn’t get paid…it’s not something that you decide…you shouldn’t feel bas

if you don’t get paid…he doesn’t get paid…end of story…it’s not your responsibility to take care of his income

Did he do the work that resulted in the links? If yes… it’s the ethical thing to do.

If $4k is not a a lot of money for u then pay him, but if it is Then negotiate the amount with him.

How much is he charging you per link?

How many backlinks did he build???? $4000 without warning? Was there a contract? Always protect yourself with a contract! It protects the freelancer AND the client.

So you’re telling me in a month he is successfully pitching 20 HARO requests??? Either he is buying backlinks or you need to share his contact with me right now
