  • Handling Bot Comments on Instagram Posts – Suggestions Needed

Posted by FullMusician9913 on June 9, 2023 at 8:02 pm

I’ve been utilizing Instagram to publicize my shop. But, every time I post, especially when using Etsy-specific hashtags, I’m flooded with bot comments advertising “pay to post” accounts. Today, I posted about a pre-Black Friday sale and received ten bot comments within just two minutes. I’m contemplating deleting these comments because they clutter the post and make it seem spammy.

However, I’ve also heard that even low-quality engagement can be advantageous for the algorithm, leading to increased post visibility. How do you manage these bot comments?

Block and delete and move on. Instagram knows they’re bots.

Honestly I think has tags attract them. Also giveaways and “sold out” for events. It’s so damn annoying.

You can set keywords that auto block comments. This may help with the spam

From my experience of scanning comments, I’ve encountered many bot comments. However, I don’t believe they necessarily tarnish the account’s reputation, unless real, engaging interactions are entirely missing.

I believe the best strategy is to cultivate a strong base of genuine followers – those who could potentially become customers and are eagerly awaiting your product releases. This was my tactic when I was operating my business account. I aimed to establish a solid follower base, which I achieved with the help of a growth service called Ascendviral. They also assisted in removing fake accounts and bots. Now, I interact mainly with my genuine followers, selling my products without being overly concerned about the relentless bots.
