Had to submit a photo of myself on Facebook to prove my identity
Posted by seohelper on February 23, 2020 at 5:02 amI run a bunch of Facebook pages as well as have a heavy use of ads and yesterday suddenly my Facebook shutdown and I had to submit a photo of myself to prove my identity.
Now I can’t use Facebook and my account has disappeared and I’m now still waiting to get verified.
Facebook bots are always miss flagging me. But this hasn’t happened before.
Anyone had this before? What was the outcome? Looking for some advice.

GuestFebruary 23, 2020 at 8:22 amI’m having this right now and I have basically been sitting ducks for 2 weeks now… sent them my ID and then received a mail like ~5 days after requesting more info so I sent my drivers license but still nothing.
This is infuriating.

GuestFebruary 23, 2020 at 10:04 amThis might take some while. It could be legit though. Make sure you check all the links, if they are secure and actually from Facebook.

GuestFebruary 23, 2020 at 10:48 amThey required it from me too because somebody reported my name as fake apparently. It got approved not much after though.

GuestFebruary 23, 2020 at 2:49 pmHappens when you’re doing a lot of things that could be a bit shady. Usually just takes a couple days for them to verify and then you get reactivated.

GuestFebruary 23, 2020 at 5:41 pmdepending on your ad budget, you might be able to chat with a FB rep. I’ve had to go through this multiple times, not much to do other than wait for them to review.

GuestFebruary 23, 2020 at 6:19 pmBeen about a month and haven’t been able to get back on. In fact, I am even unable to register a new account on Facebook. They literally banned me as a person from FB

GuestFebruary 23, 2020 at 6:40 pmMy actual, given-at-birth, same-as-my-parents, surname is the same as a very popular pastime. For example, MoonOverJupiter Gaming.
I had to do the same thing awhile back. It’s very frustrating, I agree.
I don’t really have advice, but I sympathize.

GuestFebruary 23, 2020 at 8:38 pmHappened to me twice now. Had to send a selfie twice. Took about 28 hours to unlock and then I’ve been blocked from posting in groups for five days. I’m legit. No idea why it happened. I do not post anything weird or that would be considered violating.

GuestFebruary 23, 2020 at 9:42 pmI did that, a full week later they reinstated my account for 24 hours before locking it again and damanding another photo.

GuestFebruary 23, 2020 at 10:36 pmI don’t have an advice to solve this now but if you want to avoid this in the future, never use your real account to actually work on the pages. Create 2 fake accounts and put them as admins, if one gets banned you will have the other as a backup, if for some reason both get banned (if it happens : what weird things are you doing on facebook ?), you can still use your real account to set new admins/moderators.

GuestFebruary 24, 2020 at 4:36 pmI had this on my business Instagram that got shut down literally immediately; it’s been over a year and I haven’t heard a single thing. I ended up having to repurpose my personal account as a business account.
Meanwhile my alt FB account using my (real life) nickname and a different spelling of my last name has been fine for over 5 years…
