Google UAC – Include in Conversions Column

Posted by seohelper on May 12, 2020 at 8:23 pm

I’m confused on the “include in conversions” column and what the best practices is.

I have two UAC campaigns going on.

    1) Install Volume – Users likely to perform an in-app action.
    2) In app actions – For a specific event.

If I include the # of installs conversion from Google Play in the Include in Conversions column, that gets applied to both campaigns.

Should I be including the # of installs in the “Include in Conversion column” or should I just be including the specific event

    1) Install Volume – Users likely to perform an in-app action. – Do I just track the in-app action for install volume?

Including in conversions column essentially allows you to tell the system to bid for those conversions.

When you create a campaign you can specify what exactly it needs to optimize. E.g install only campaign vs in-app action campaign

If you want to track some non-essential conversions/events – you don’t include them and can see them under all conversions column and segment by conversion.

For UAC you need to include installs in the conversion column and the in app event you’re optimizing to for your Actions campaign.

I’d suggest creating custom columns for the specifics of your conversions i.e. installs, CPI, sign up cost/sign up whatever else may exist in your all conversions column.

Watch out for the “include View Through Conversions in All conversion column setting” under Conversions settings. That’s googles way of mixing in View Throughs from display with click based conversions which is an issue if you’re using Custom Columns based off the All Conv column.
