Google Shopping – one product gets most of the clicks

Posted by reshaay on January 6, 2023 at 10:38 am

    Hello, guys.

I am running a standard shopping campaign for \~300 products (including variants for sizes). The campaign has less than a month of running, but in this time I noticed that one product gets anywhere from 50% to 90% of the daily clicks. Normally, if it had conversions I wouldn’t mind, but I only had some ATCs.

I reviewed the search terms and in fact, all are highly relevant (either brand name or brand name + product type) and the CTR sits above 1% with a pretty good CPC. Prices are competitive and I have optimized the feed as best as I can.

Do you recommend I exclude that product or just have more patience with it?

    Cheers

Create a separate shopping campaign for this product and exclude it from your main campaign?

You shouldn’t have every product in the same shopping campaign anyway, at least not when you have 300 products.

Either pause the SKU or put it in [another campaign](https://www.takesomerisk.com/how-to-structure-your-shopping-campaigns/) to see if that helps things by giving it, its own budget. We have done this with other clients for SKUs that spend a lot of money and drive conversions & revenue. Sometimes put a couple SKUs in their own campaign works really well.
