    Google shopping ads – Please help me understand this!

    Posted by No_Eye_114 on December 25, 2022 at 7:34 pm

    Hello Google ads experts,

    I sell custom jewelry online, I am still learning on how Google shopping ads work but there is somethingI couldn’t find an answer to or understand about my competitors ads. I will give an example on the search terms in my niche;

    – name necklace
    – custom necklace
    – silver name necklace
    – gold name necklace
    – gold name pendant
    – custom pendant
    – silver personalised chain
    – gold name personalised pendant 18k
    – custom jewelry
    – customized birthday gift
    – name silver necklace for me

    Etc etc etc

    My question is: How come some competitors can cover ALL these keywords and MORE using only 1 ad with a DIFFERENT TITLE. Example, if I look for Gold Name Pendant, I will see my competitors ads on Silver Pendants and I won’t see my ads whereas mine are optimized and titles are more relevant??

    Where do they add all this information? How can you make your ad so relevant WITHOUT adding all these keywords to your product title? Can this ne done through a supplemental feed?

    Because I optimized mine, added product categories, made my titles VERY relevant, increased my bids, followed every single advise and pro tip I found online to optimize my shopping feed, yet when it comes to my ads, I am getting thousands of impressions but barely any clicks. My content and pictures are of high quality,;

    1. I don’t understand why my competitors shopping ads are dominating every search term I type on google WITHOUT it being part of their product titles.

    2. When it comes to my ads, when I try to look using terms in my niche, if I don’t mention 1 keyword, my ads don’t show. Example; if I look for custom necklace, my shopping ads won’t show although titles were optimized to include those keywords, Google will show my competitors ads instead. However, if I look for something more specific such as “silver custom name necklace”, some of my ads will show. I want my ads to show while searching for broad terms such as “custom jewelry”, “custom necklaces” or “personalised necklaces” too. Those are already in my product titles and descriptions yet Google chooses to show a shopping ad with a less relevant “title.”

    Could anyone explain this please. I have looked everywhere but could not find an explanation to this.

    Many thanks.
