Google reps – again. How to report?

Posted by ben_bgtDigital on October 6, 2022 at 3:12 pm

Is there an official process to reporting Google ‘reps’ for spouting misinformation and straight up lying to clients (and copying me into every email).

Between blocking incoming calls from India and dealing with the official Google reps and their ‘urgent recommendations’ to improve my accounts, I must lose a few hours each week.

I went ahead and sent in a support ticket. It stopped.

Yes, there is an official complaint form on the Google Ads support website:

Google contracts with a few partner companies for lower-tier account support (TTEC, Teleperformance, Regalix etc). While there are some fantastic reps at these companies, more often than not these companies have very low thresholds for hiring folks. We’ve had some incredibly rude and unprofessional interactions. I don’t tolerate it anymore. It’s unacceptable.

I just tell my clients to hang up if they hear an Indian accent.

I’ve had a lot more success dealing when I replied. I asked them to stop calling my client and they can send me recs and it has worked mostly. By worked I mean we aren’t getting blown up anymore

Tell them to add you to their drop list.

These days I only hear 2 recommendations from Google reps:
    1. Change all your keywords to broad match, it is fine, our AI will take care of it.
    2. Increase the budget.

Not all Indian reps are bad…and not all EU-based reps are good. But totally agreed with you all about recommendations from Google Ads support atm. Most of them are shit. They don’t give a shit about your business or your difficulties. What they want is to make you spend more money, increase bids and budgets.
