Hi there, so today I received email from Google Console about page indexing issues on client’s site, went to see the report and it states that 644 pages aren’t indexed and 233 are.

Went on and checked those pages which aren’t indexed and most of them are pages translated to another language from the times when we used Translatepress plugin on our site… So domain of the non-indexed pages have /fr/ on end of them and then there would be page slug.

I wonder how can I fix this problem, we no longer use multilanguage option on our site, I deleted the plugin completely but somehow google is still finding those urls and reporting to me that they are not indexed.

If you no longer offer multi language on your site, what’s going on with the /fr/ URLs?
Are they still status code 200 but you’re not linking to them on your website?

If they are not accessible to users and they have any backlinks you could redirect them to the Homepage to pass some link equity. If not, you could permanently delete them, Google will eventually stop trying to crawl them.
