Google Ads Purchase Conversion counting non whole numbers? (0.18 purchase conversion event)

Posted by dabIsland on August 12, 2023 at 6:50 pm

Does anyone know why my google ads conversion event is tracking non whole numbers for purchases? I am seeing 0.22 conversions tracked for purchases.

My conversion event was created through my linked GA4 property.

The rest of the clicks that led to the conversion took place during a date range outside of the one you are looking at. Due to multiple conversions being fractional, unless you’re looking at your entire account history as the date range you’ll always see some sort of decimal number.

This will be because of the attribution model you are using for your conversions. Basically, it means that the customer clicked on multiple different campaigns before making the purchase and therefore Google divides up thr credit between those campaigns. These clicks may have occurred on different days, so if you look back through your conversion data over the last 30 days, you should be able to find the day(s) where the other 0.82 of the conversion was attributed.

You might want to Google: Google Ads Attribution model if this is a new term for you.

    Hope that helps.

It often (not always) will happen outside of the date range an individual is looking at. It also depends on how long you set cookies to track.

I 100% set cookies to 90 days so even more likely on a 90 day conversion window lookback.

It’s because it’s fractional through DDA.

To fix it go to Tools and settings>Measurement>Conversions>click your primary conversion>edit settings>attribution

It sounds like you maybe be using position-based
