google Ads Organic vs paid
Posted by seohelper on April 22, 2020 at 10:54 pmHey,
So over the last 7 days I’ve got 14 sales from google on my store. Yesterday I started Google ads and it brought in 1 sale.
It seems without ads I get sales from google anyway.
is there much point in using google ads? How effective can it really be for my situation?

GuestApril 22, 2020 at 11:07 pmGoogle ads take longer than 1 day to optimize a campaign to see great results.
Elaborate on the question for people to answer efficiently

GuestApril 22, 2020 at 11:42 pmOrganic will get you sales when people are searching your business by name. Paid will get you sales for when people are searching for the product or service you offer.
I would suggest running Google Ads no matter what and hiring someone who can help you out.

GuestApril 23, 2020 at 4:03 amhi u/SimonBain, both channels should compliment each other rather than compare it as apples to apples. organic is good for a long term strategy as it’s basically free but paid ads will boost your sale and traffic. traffic is one of the factor why your website is up on the first page for keywords that’s bringing you traffic.
second point, as mentioned by u/kylewaters, it will take more than a day for your ads to finish the optimizing based off of google. algorithm on audience sampling. if you’re doing ads to test wether it can bring in more sales, allow at least 2 weeks to 6 weeks before you can draw a conclusion.

GuestApril 23, 2020 at 10:17 amIt’s all down to trying, testing and measuring RoI. Try Google Ads, see if revenue increase, measure that against the cost and time spent on Ads.
Also if you are really strong organically in one area, why not use Google Ads then to explore new areas? Ads offers you more than enough potential for growth that not using Ads is more often than not a bad decision.

GuestApril 23, 2020 at 2:05 pmAre you running a smart campaign or your own custom campaign? Smart campaigns can take an age to be profitable/effective especially if your web site content and Ads are not set up well. And in that period you can burn a lot of cash as it tests different phrases, users etc etc. You need to be very careful with Google Ads as it’s easy to spend a lot with little return unless you really know what you are doing. The aim should be to get your Google Ads cost per sale at a sensible level – so that you still make a profit over the sale and/or lifetime value of the customer. Setting meaningful targets and working towards those is key.
