Google Ad campaign – Need help tracking conversions

Posted by seohelper on April 21, 2020 at 7:12 pm

This is one of the first campaigns that I’ve built independently and I’m stuck! I don’t have any marketing colleagues to bounce ideas off of, so I’m hoping someone from this group could help me out. I would gladly compensate someone for an hour of their time to go over the issues I’m struggling with.

    So here’s the scoop:
Landing page is built (but probably not very well because I made that too ?) through WordPress, Divi builder. Couldn’t add a contact form to the page without some crazy SMTP settings, getting hosting info, etc. So I improvised and directed all of the buttons on the page to our contact form.

Contact form is an unstyled, embedded Mailchimp form that links with our CRM. I created tags for all of the buttons, but I couldn’t figure out how to create one for the contact form. Super important if I want to track conversions from these ads.

Wondering if someone experienced with PPC would be interested in hopping on a Zoom call today or tomorrow and going over some of this stuff with me. I’m determined to learn! Plz help!

Not much of a help with your landing page and contact form information, as I haven’t had to do that yet for the accounts I’ve worked on, BUT you mentioned not having colleagues to bounce ideas off of. I’m in the same boat, so if you’d ever like to discuss ideas, findings, or things of that nature let me know!

What are you specifically looking to track?

If you are looking to track what is driving conversions within your campaign (keywords, ads, etc) you should look to implementing the Google Ads conversion tag or a Google Analytics tag on your site.

If you are looking to single out forms as specifically coming from your paid ads, that will take a separate form in my experience.

Let me know if you would like to talk through things more! Happy to help out
