Google ad campaign isn’t active – Your ad was disapproved for Circumventing systems.
I signed up to Google ads earlier this week, uploaded some ads and added my payment details.
Everything seemed to be approved and ready to go yesterday lunchtime, so I was just waiting for it to go live. But late yesterday I got a message saying “Your campaign isn’t active. **Your ad was disapproved for Malicious software**”.
I quickly realised it was probably because my site forwards any traffic from outside the UK to another page (same site) with just a line of text saying “Sorry, not available outside UK”. So I modified it last night to no longer treat non-UK traffic differently, and since this morning I have the message “Your campaign isn’t active. **Your ad was disapproved for Circumventing systems**”.
Searching for an explanation seems to come up with the same three solutions:
1) A bug on Google’s side that affected many accounts around February, now supposedly fixed.
2) A plugin or something called ClickCease, which I’ve never used and isn’t installed.
3) One person said their site looked suspicious and they had to add more contact info to the page, and that fixed it.
Can anyone suggest any other possible solutions? Also, is there a difference between having your *campaign* disapproved and having your *account* disaproved/suspended?
Thanks.
