GA4, Shopify & Google Ads
I’ve seen a few threads on here regarding similar topics with no clear solutions to what I’m seeing.
Recently launched search and YouTube campaigns for a client. Their site is built on Shopify. We’re using GA4 imported conversions for google ads.
The client let us know they saw a purchase come in yesterday and the person says they clicked an ad. They contacted the owner through a form (ga4 did track this) but their subsequent return to the site and more specifically their purchase was recorded as direct traffic.
Shouldn’t data driven attribution attribute this purchase to the ad they previously clicked?
I’ve read people saying that shop.app can interfere with carrying over the attribution. What is the solution here?
