FRUSTRATED! Facebook Ads Manager Bugged When Making A Message Campaign

Posted by seohelper on June 19, 2020 at 6:32 am

Edit: [SOLVED] For anyone having this problem or similar, try to create your ad on a different browser. I was using Chrome and switched to Firefox where the problem didn’t exist. Thanks to u/aLeakyAbstraction for inspiration to the answer!

As the title says, my ads manager is bugged when I try to create a message campaign.

This is not affecting my other ads manager account when I try to make a message campaign and does not happen when I try to make any other campaign.

This actually happened halfway through a campaign I was running for a client, and I just could not run the ads anymore as the error prevented me from launching/updating the ad.

As it’s still happening, it’s going to be a problem if I try to do any message campaigns in the future.

Already sent a ticket to Facebook, but who knows when or if they’ll get back to me.

Anyone went through this before and found a fix?

Facebook sucks so hard. They’ve been updating a lot of things, as if the last version was finished. Their documentation is SO OUTDATED. Best of luck sorting this out.

I want you to try 3 different things if you can.

    1. Reset Ads Manager
    2. Try building the campaign through the guided view
    3. (Assuming you’re using Chrome for your browser)

In the upper right-hand corner in Chrome, click on the 3 little dots to enter settings

Go to More Tools and then Task Manager

A little screen will popup. Click on the column titled “Memory Footprint” so that it sorts by the highest to lowest.

Find any reference to Facebook Ads Manager and click on them to highlight them

Finally, click on “End Process”. Note: this will close out any Ads Manager tabs you are currently working on.

Let me know if any of these solutions fixes the problem.
