  Freelancing for a Sports Social Media Team

  Hey all! I’m currently a full-time sports journalist who is looking to also do some freelance sports social media work for a local amateur and/or semi pro sports team for free.

  I have some experience running sports team social media accounts for my college (I graduated in 2022) and I also took a lot of social media/marketing classes in college.

  I live in the NJ/NYC area, and I’d be okay with volunteering and working for free for a sports team until I can properly build my portfolio up again. Any advice for me?

  I would start following those accounts and throw in an occassional Dm, warm them up to you and then reach out with an email or phone call.
