I launched my SMM brand this week and I’m just wondering how difficult it actually is to find work in this field? I really want to make this work and I’m willing to put a lot of effort into it, but I really need to find my first client. Any advice for a newbie? Haha

Same, find a client that will let you do smm and grow it to use in your resume. Just whatever is necessary, 100s of emails, bis DMs, going to local mom and pop stores. Getting your first job is universal.

Do you know any business owners already?

A cafe you regularly go to?

If your work looks good and the price is right, it should be easy. Start reaching out to businesses…

Shit, I need these services myself. I think everyone does.

Try platforms like Upwork just to get experience I know they 100% lowball but its still experience, dorectly contact targetted business in your area that way you can also charge the price you want, announce to friends and family members too network, search linkedin for small businesses to contact directly as well, use social media too you are infact a smm so there are business that would take you FB and Insta message them.

If you’re starting out, I recommend scaling from small to medium enterprises that need support. Universities usually have a business school or enterprise centre full of fledging businesses where students are setting up. Get to networking events in your local area too! Can’t recommend enough.

Word of mouth is also always the best recommendation. Building up a network over time works wonders. Good luck.

I have 4+ years of experience and I feel like it just keeps getting harder and harder. Good luck
