    fb pixel question.

Posted by seohelper on April 22, 2020 at 4:44 pm

    Hi guys!

My first 4 month venture in fb ads is going pretty well. I’ve managed some decent roi. However, it seems like a lot of my site purchases do not count for my fb ads/pixel.

I’ve definitely heard of people not getting every purchase because people get back to the site on their own to complete it.

I feel like my stats are pretty damn big though in difference.

Fb ads captured 233 purchases total 1-22 april My store reports 280 purchases total.

    A difference of 57 purchases.

Now that may be decent (i think at least since im pretty new)

But based on this: 25th march to 22 april Fb pixel: 234 pur Store: 349

A difference of 115 purchases that fb did not capture.

My question is to more experienced fb users: is this normal? I understand there is a certain time window when clicking an ad but shouldn’t the pixel capture every pur regardless?

    Hey,

Where are you comparing this, google analytics?

Compare it to the numbers in Event Manager or Facebook Analytics rather than your ads. Ads have attribution factored into it so will never account for all sales you see on your store because its impossible to serve a FB ad to all users.

I see a lot of differences in capture of traffic source in the various analytics platforms where Facebook is concerned. More often for my clients, it’s that Facebook is capturing conversions where Google Analytics or another tool shows a different traffic source because Facebook is much better at capturing cross-device conversions. That’s because people seem to love their Facebook and log into their phone and their computer for Facebook. This allows for greater cross-device records compared to most other tools (like Google Ads).

I haven’t seen the opposite like this – interesting post – thank you for sharing!!

Never trust Shopifys analytics as it relates to attribution. With that said, you can check your pixel relative to total orders as reported by Shopify to see if the pixel is picking up all purchases (and the other stats as well) and you’ll have a better idea if its tracking accurately or not.
