    FB ads performance in Australia

Posted by seohelper on May 11, 2020 at 1:26 pm

    Hi there,

2-3 weeks in a row we have decreasing sales in Australia FB market.

FB cost per result last few days increased to 90 USD. Before was 60 USD. And it is very huge for tea product.

Last year e-shop conversion rate for period 2019-01/06 was 3%, now 2020-01/05 is 1,4%.

(reach of FB users increased x2, as well as visitors amount in store x2 times).

**Nothing has change except that we are targeting Australia as separate country in adset level !**

We understand that something is wrong with AU country, and would like to ask others who are targeting Australia couple of questions:

    1) What has changed in Australia that FB users are not converting well ?

    2) Any observation from your side what is wrong with Australia market/users this spring?

    Kind Regards,

    Auris W.

Are you using CBO and audience expanses in your ad sets? I would turn those off as it might be cause your poor performance.

A few non-platform things to consider (coming from an Australian).

Whilst the corona virus hasn’t been as lethal here as other parts of the world it has altered society here with strict lockdowns. These lockdowns have lead to unemployment to spike and economic uncertainty to set in.

If your tea product is considered a “luxury” it may be from people cutting back on discretionary spending. Also a lot of people stockpiled food and beverages early in the outbreak due to fear of food shortages so people may be eating down those supplies first.
