[FB Ads] Looking for some help with LLA

Posted by Hot_Parfait_6318 on March 28, 2023 at 4:59 pm

So I am running ads for an edtech company that provides multiple courses in various streams.

I started off with the following setup :-

    – Converters LLA 1%
    – Converters LLA1- 2%
    – Remarketing – Website visitors
    – Remarketing – Fb/IG Engagement

This setup was working well. Till I decided to test out more LLA audiences which increased my CPA for both previous LLA campaigns.

I thought this was due to some overlapping b/w the LLA audiences and decided to create a single campaigns running on CBO where i will test out more LLA audiences. So now my setup looks like this :-

    – Converters LLA
    • LLA 1%
    •LLA 1-2%
    •LLA 2-3%
    •LLA 3-4%
    •LLA 4-5%
    And so on

I also excluded the other lookalike audiences from each adset.

Currently this campaigs has spent over $50 with 0 conversions.

What could be the reason for this performance dip?
Did I make a mistake by excluding the LLA audiences from each other? I have previously successfully tested multiple LLA without exclusions running under a CBO campaigns.

What are your thoughts? How do you guys test/scale/setup LLA audiences? Also how do you deal with the overlapping?

Excluding each other LLA audience in each ad group doesn’t make any difference. Each LLA audience is different already. I test them like that for every account i manage, and they just have very different behaviours. Normally, the best ones are 1 to 3%, but sometimes higher values work fine or even better.

I wouldn’t use CBO for this tests, as you want to make sure each ad group has enough impressions to compare results. Just set an equal daily budget for each group and test it for a week or so, then jump to conclusions.

Know that this is a discovery campaign, so don’t expect great overall results, you are just investing the money to learn for future campaigns.
