Fantastic CPI For Bulk Phase, But…

Posted by CatBowlDogStar on September 29, 2024 at 12:05 pm

    Hi,

We have had exceptionally low-cost installs in bulk phase. This is for a new, cute RPG mobile game; the product is very high quality with truly unique hooks. Great ads, great hooks, great product.

Industry standard for CPI seems to be over 5x what we are paying. Mainly Google Ads but some FB.

    So far, so good. But:
    – 0 sales.
    – 1st day retention is 1/4th of our expectations to be "successful".

I get these are normal for initial lost building.

This is with 0 targeting as Google Ads initial CPI campaigns require 50k installs & a matching seed list of 1000.

    We now have both.

We're first looking to use the seed to focus on retention.

    Questions:
    – What CPA/CPE price target should I use? 2x 3x present CPI?
    – How many rounds of seeds and / or time to get a retention rate that we like?
    – Anything else ???

    Thanks kindly!!

    Notes:

     – I’m not new to online marketing. But…

    – The past 16 years, I’ve been running a small gaming studio. We’re successful but this new title is an entirely new niche. Our existing lists can help with future purchasing signals but not targeting signals.

     –  Ad budget is not a significant limiting factor. I just need to find a successful ROAS, then pour it in.

    – Our on-page conversion is 28%.

     – We will create playable ads soon. Right now its a mix of video & static.

     – The max target audience is not a limiting factor either.

     – We expect to win awards with this title.  If we do this right, it has a decent breakout hit chance.

    – % of sales go to charity. Some Non $$ in-game actions raise funds too.
