Facebook Tracking Experts – Firing Pixel with No “Thank You” Page

    Hello All!

I work in lead generation and have created a lander that guides the user through an onboarding experience. Then, they can choose a username/password, and then are sent to the client’s website.

If the lead is valid I receive a postback confirming the lead. The issue I’m trying to wrap my head around is I can’t fire the pixel until AFTER the user has left my site and also confirmed valid. Is there a way to track this event?

    Flow

    User completes onboarding:

User is sent to client’s website:

Lead is validated via postback to my server:

    Pixel fires for “Lead” event.

We post lead via Facebook CAPI.

Why not use the FB API to post it as an offline transaction once you get the post back?

As long as you have some form of PII against the Lead to send after via CAPI, it should work without having the pixel fire client side on the website. The pixel ID still has to exist, but when you implement it server side only via CAPI, it will say in Events Manager that the Lead event is “Server only” vs “Browser” or a combination.
