Facebook flagging shared posts as spam
I run a verified non-profit page for an animal shelter. We've had this account for at least 10 years and we've never had any issues with our posts. Until now. Within the past week followers have started reporting that when they share are posts they're being flagged as spam and removed. This is only happening on Facebook, not on Instagram or Threads where we share the same content (and for Instagram we use Business Suite to publish posts to FB and IG at the same time much of the time).
Our post frequency and content haven't changed. The majority of our posts are either promoting our upcoming events/fundraisers using a photo of an adoptable pet and providing a link to the pet's profile or simply highlighting an adoptable pet and linking to the pet's profile.
A couple of weeks ago one of the event posts got flagged as spam. I appealed the decision (but of course nothing happened) and then reposted the post without the link, thinking the link may have been the issue. That post didn't get removed.
Since then, I've posted as normal, including with links. None of them have been flagged on our end, but on two separate posts people have commented that they can't share them/they get removed when shared.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Have you successfully solved the issue? Facebook is a very important communication tool for us, for better or worse. Much of our community is on Facebook and it is by far the best way for us to reach pet owners to reunite lost pets, reach supporters, and reach potential adopters, so the last thing I want is for our page to be penalized or deactivated for some reason, or for our followers to be penalized for sharing our posts.
I'm going to try posting without links and seeing how that goes, but I'd appreciate any advice, tips, educated guesses and suggestions, etc., I'm willing to try anything (within reason) to fix this!
