    Hello, do you have any experience with buying expired domains to boost your SEO efforts? Is it worth it? What kinds of activities are the most rewarding (redirecting, rebuilding original site,…)?

    Rebuilding the original site = copyright infringement

    Redirecting = penalty

    Making a new site = good idea as long as you do it correctly (most people do not)

    As long as you do it correctly.

    Redirecting is easy and quick but doesn’t always result in any improvement. Rebuilding an old site could give issues down the road if the site gets noticed by the old owner.

    With us being in the age of AI it is not exactly hard to build out a new site around unique content. If you use AI, make sure the content is at least passing for human written content in the automated checking tools.

    I’ve been buying expired domains for 20yrs literally.

    I don’t think I’ve ever redirected to another site.

    It’s best to build it out or flip it. In terms of SEO its very nice to have your own network of websites.

    When you have a network of websites it makes it very easy to rank other new sites.. in some cases hours.

    Worth it only if it was an established or known address or brandable. Otherwise not really. Don’t buy expired domains for their SEO potential. You’ll hardly find any worth in *expired* auctions. I’ve had more success selling them after I bought them expired. But that’s more of a numbers/luck game.
