Curious if anyone is experiencing a huge dip in engagement in Instagram during the holidays, so now?
I know Tik Tok has decreased a lot recently.

New to this group, so not sure if this is the right to place to ask. Sorry if it’s not.

All depends on what kinda business and many other factors.

Obviously, B2B folks aren’t on social right now as much? As they’re enjoying the time off.

At the same time, with folks having time off, you have more people posting stuff. More kids home at their parents and bored and making videos and posting. So competition is higher for eyeballs.

Number of people viewing can go both ways. While many are more likely to be on social because they have the time off and are bored, you have the others who are less likely, because they’re with friends and family and don’t have as much boring time to fill by staring at a screen.

I wouldn’t say it’s related to the holidays. It’s been like this for few months now. I feel like instagram made itself look so bad with vertigo-inducing reels in people’s feeds as they scroll. Just random content that nobody’s interested in. And for that, us business accounts suffer from the same people ignoring our content.

Basically, the platform is over saturated and it’s super hard to find a spot and make it LAST. I remember the only time I wasn’t facing this problem was when my account was run by a growth service called Ascendviral. They are the ones who grew my account in the first place and when I finally saw things going well for me I stopped dealing with them and my engagement dropped again. I thinking that’s the problem, you need to dedicate your whole time for this platform and I ain’t got that much free time so I might get back to working with them.

Other than that, there are no tricks or tips that work for everyone, you just gotta keep experimenting and learning from others’ experiences till you finally find what works for you the best.. and most importantly something that will LAST.
