Hello, I want to setup a domain for a school in the UK with further plans to expand it internationally.
For some countries – they will be offered live courses and on demand courses.
For other countries – they will only be offered only on demand courses.
Would you setup a separate local domain for each country or region.
Or would you set up a .com and use sub directories?

My thinking is that SEO, analytics costs, and operational costs are going to be difficult if I go with multiple local domains strategy.

In my opinion, it depends on your courses and the language in which it offers, I myself have an education niche website where I also target courses within the country… But I still used .com
Using .com TLD is the best for high-volume traffic and I don’t think subdirectories are necessary for regional targeting, as long as you offer currency change & language change options. ( unless you are targetting different language based courses like Japanese, Chines, Hindi… etc )
