  • Does this combination of paid Social media marketing tools make any sense?

    Dear all,

In my company there is currently a guy that acts like he is a social media guru. Now there is the plan to buy two tools namely Fanpage Karma and PromoRepublic. So far nothing I can’t relate to, but when I checked the features of both it both seemed pretty redundant to me. Is that really the case or is it just my lack of experience in that field?

    Thanks in advance!

Following. Because I’m curious and have never used either.

Just did a quick search on both. If I had to guess both do the same things but each one might be better at a specific feature. Looks like Fanpage is more about the analytics and social listening. Depending on the size and type of your business this could be huge.

PromoRebublic is all about publishing and scheduling content. They have a cool feature I haven’t seen on other tools is managing specific locations social media accounts.

Question him on what he’s using each for. But yes I can see a potential reason for using both.

The two platforms are redundant of each other. Both are content creators and schedulers with Social platforms. If you are going to invest in another software besides a good SMM software. I would recommend researching a powerful Social listening partner or content recommendations partner that enables you to pick industry trends and data based off the needs of your clients.

PromoRepublic has one major flaw. It is not connected to Instagram. I would suggest going with Hootsuite. Or another SMM platform that can post to Insta.

Fanpage Karma I am not familiar enough with to provide feedback on. However, when we were picking our resources. We ultimately did not even have them pop up in any recommended SMM tools. They might just be too new.

Source: I am building a SMM company that manages businesses Socials and makes content “with” them. This is important to differentiate. Not “For” them. But “with”.

Good luck on your journey! He sounds like he is on the right path. However, there are many things to think about. And many agencies find themselves unable to effectively do this service for their clients. Thus why many stick to SEO and Ads. Their clients understand the ROI and there is less stress on a continual basis.
