  • Does quantity matter?

Posted by seohelper on March 23, 2021 at 8:58 am

I’ve this question of quality vs quantity in my mind for a long time

I’ve written Blog posts over 4000 words on my blog and in total there are 22 posts, average length of which is 1500-2000 words

My Blog is 10 months old, and is a blogspot, but all this generates only about 100-200 visits monthly

I’ve seen some people saying quantity>quality for getting traffic

So i wanna know what’s true?

And should i start posting like 400-500 words articles on a daily basis and target 100 posts ?

    > I’ve seen some people saying quantity>quality for getting traffic

~~Yes, it is.~~ Edit: My bad, I read it as quality > quantity so, I said yes. As can be seen from my below explanation. Back to your point, you should not target for quantity but, highly focus on quality.

Again, if your throughput does not match the quality, there’s no point in doing so.

If I was in your place, I would study the competition for inspiration and implement their strategy.

Depends on what you’re writing about.

4000-5000 words on ‘The Best Laptop’ isn’t going to get you anywhere.

Writing 500 words on ‘Can chinchilla’s eat pecan nuts’ might be enough to rank.

You need to consider the competition and the searchers intent. There is no magic formula for word length of an article.

There are plenty of websites that rank highly competitive keywords with very few words, but they often have a ton of backlinks.

Content length is only part of equasion.

While its not perfect, consider looking at the golden keyword ratio.

I do not think that quantity matters, the most things that matter is the quality of your blog. So, I would suggest you look over the quality that targets the intent of readers.

If you feel your content requires 2000 words, write 2000 words. If you feel like it requires 500, write 500.

You should, however, look at competition to see what kind of content they’re putting out for visitors and set goals accordingly.

Don’t start writing words for the sake of writing words. We used to have a content writer write the longest, most worthless introductions to try and up the word count. Her articles were a slog to read, editing took FOREVER, and we ended up letting her go.

You should take a look at Brian Dean’s blog. He talks about this exact subject in detail and you might find it helpful. I don’t think there are any hard fast rules around word count or how often you post if you keep your audience at the forefront and deliver content that they will enjoy and hang around long enough to read. Curious what others will say and wish you all the luck with it!

Google “is it christmas” and you’ll know if length of post matters.

I don’t know of many bloggers generating a full-time income on less than 100 posts…

However, I see lots of blogs doing it in the 100-400 post range.

That doesn’t mean to start only writing 500 word posts… But, it does mean if you’re only cranking out 2 posts a month you’ve potentially got a long road ahead.

Two 2,000 word posts a month is also pretty slow writing. It’s like 150 words a day. That’s what we yell at George RR Martin for territory. It’s like double this reply’s # of words. Try to speed that up and outsource some of the writing if you have to.

See it’s all about writing quality content. Quality and informative content will always give you proper ranking and benefits. Quantity doesn’t matter. So focus on quality and cover all the parts which you have mentioned or promised in the title section.

According to me, the quality content is the one where you explain each and everything about the topic. To make it more user friendly, you may use examples, images, case studies etc. If you do it in such a manner your content will going to be more than 2000 words or more than that.

The two important ingredients of writing quality content is research and time. If you have good knowledge about the subject and if you give time to your writing by editing your content, again and again, to make it better.

Then you will achieve both quantity and quality. Both are required and both are achievable and that requires time and resources.

Few Tips to write a quality content

    1. Do proper keyword research
    2. Take a topic
    3. Invest time in making a headline
    4. Make points
    5. Collect statistics
    6. Tried to answer wh question as much as possible (who, why, what, where, when, whom, how)
    7. Write Conclusion
    8. Once you are done with all the steps, then invest time in making a punchy introduction
    9. Last, most important read your content loudly but don’t disturb your neighbour otherwise you got fired ( just joking)
    10. And edit your content at least once
    11. Take help from Grammarly, it is must because when you are in flow most of the time the coordination between pen and brain doesn’t match and you may make a spelling mistake or write an incorrect sentence.

This is a small lecture from a newbie. Please ignore if you don’t like it.

In my niche blogging tips 500 words would be too short. I cannot thoroughly cover a topic in 500 words. Even SEO Tools say it must be a minimum of 600 words but I would not rank unless I was more thorough. Check the number one spot and see what they are doing. Try to do better.

Sorry, laughed at quantity over quality.

Would you like 100 handjobs or wholesome sex at night?

    Ask yourself.

And move to web flow or WordPress.

Don’t hunt in the burnt jungle.
