Does Google Require a Minimum Spend Per Day Now?
Hello! First-time poster. I’ve run into an issue I can’t seem to figure out and hope someone can help or has experienced this too…
I was doing some keyword research in the Google Ads Keyword Planner for a client. They are INCREDIBLY niche, so very few keywords would be beneficial for them to bid on. Because of that, the keyword planner was recommending we only spend $7/day for 14 clicks a month. (Even if we spent $50/day we would only get 15 clicks due to traffic). Because leads are extremely valuable to this client, even one lead a month would be HUGE. It was a no-brainer to spend $7/day to bid on a few keywords that could drive even minimal traffic to the site.
The client signed off on the budget and then I went to create the account. Now Google isn’t letting me create the campaign without a minimum spend of $20/day. I’ve never seen this happen before (not letting you publish a campaign without a certain minimum daily spend). Is this a new thing? Or have I just not run the accounts that were under the minimum recommended given the keywords? Is there a way to bypass the minimum daily and and “test my luck?”? In other words, maybe Google is predicting at that spend I won’t get traffic, but maybe if I activate the campaign I will.
I really don’t want to have to go back to the client for more money. Does anyone have any advice for me?
