Does Changing Campaign Name effects Performance ? Campaign Naming Nomenclature ?

Posted by chipschicky on November 8, 2023 at 1:32 pm

I have developed the following Nomenclature for the Campaign Naming:

    Country | Channel | Campaign Type | Bidding Strategy | Branded/NonBranded | Audience | Products | Any Additional Details

    e.g. US | google | shopping | eCPC-low | brand | broad | all-p | En

I am using the same in utm\_campaign at campaign level, without spaces between pipes.

If i change the Campaign Name later e.g. Bidding Strategy is changed to tROAS instead of eCPC, will it push the campaign back into learning phase ?

In short, should i keep the frequent ***Variables*** out of the Campaign Name, so i don’t have to change campaign name again and again ?

I don’t know for sure but it seems unlikely that changing the campaign name will affect performance.

No, the campaign names don’t affect actual performance since campaigns are probably referred to in the backend by the Campaign ID rather than the name.

It’s your preference if you want to keep using frequent variables or not. Personally, I find your naming structure excessive and overkill, but to each their own.
