Does an “informative”search term usually gets a Low Impression Share?

Posted by seohelper on May 12, 2020 at 11:44 pm

    Hi everyone!

I have this question because one of campaigns is trigger with an search term very informative, but probably with low commercial intent. The thing is, that search term has a high search volume, then, among those people there’s a small percentage who do intend to buy.

The problem is that this campaign has a very low Impression Share (<10%), but when I see the IS of my competitors, it’s the same thing, very low.

Many times, when I run the query in Google, not even an ad is triggered, and when it is, Google only shows one.

is this normal? or is it something bad with my campaign?

    Thank you!

This is completely normal. For informative search results, Google wants to give the user the best experience without leaving the SERP. So if they ask or type in an informative query (usually long tailed), Google will favor the website with the most relevant answer or information which is usually an organic blog post.
