“Internet addiction” has been documented as a real disorder by many medical institutions for around a decade now. I think many of the people that become obsessed with social media have underlying impulsivity/dependency issues, and it’s not very different than gambling or pornography addiction.

I still haven’t seen or experienced social media without the likes count. That in particular causes a lot of the problems
