  • Do you put out the same content across all your platforms? Or does specific content go on specific platforms?

    Is your motto, the more eyes that see your message the better? Or do you publish specific messages on specific platforms? I’m not talking about creating different accounts on each platform for different purposes, I am referring to your organization that has one account per major platform.

    In other words, I can tailor a message to a platform (i.e. longer for Facebook, shorter for Twitter) but should I be trying to differentiate the actual content that shows up on each platform?

    I work for government and we do not sell products, but we put out a lot of messages, and many different kinds of messages.

    Determine what you want quantitatively as your main goals (Key Performance Indicators/KPIs ), then test both approaches separately.

    Next, evaluate objectively (remove your preconceived notions about what “should” be better), and ultimately let performance data and analytics make the decisions.
