  • Do you open GSC daily?

I was having a chat with friends who are into SEO and I was surprised to hear they don’t open GSC daily to see the numbers from the latest available day.

Am I the only one who opens it daily no matter what? I might only spend 5 minutes, but I guess it became a habit

At my job: I check traffic in GSC twice a week for forecasting purposes. If I did not have to provide forecasts, I would check only once a week.

For my pet projects: I check GSC a couple of times a year. Nothing I could see in GSC would change what I do on that day/week.

Yep. I open it daily, multiple times. I think I have a problem……

I’m more likely to look at analytics or my KW rank tracking. GSC is helpful but I just check it maybe once or twice a week. It’s helpful enough to be used often IMO

Every day. GSC is like the king on the chessboard. Can’t do a lot with it but you always have to pay attention.

**no**. SEO is a long game with too many variables for daily flux to matter, and checking numbers never makes them go up. I’m more likely to pop in there to see if any issues have been detected than to check anything else.

    Open daily: yes

Think about what I see? No.

Thinking about, perhaps once on a while.

Yes, I opened a new Firefox window with all the pages that I want to check daily (GSC, analytics, etc.). Then right-click on one of the tabs and choose “select all”. Then right-click again and save them all as a bookmarks folder.

That makes a bookmark item that lets me open all those tabs with one click. I do a quick skim of all the pages every morning. Sometimes it takes just a couple of minutes.

    Hrm.…not really. I used to.

I tbink I am more likely to pull data directly from the api than go to GSC.

Not directly. But I plugged the data to datastudio and check on a daily stuff there that is pre-filtered, so I don’t have to do the extra clicks in GSC.

You’ve got some weird friends btw, all my SEO people do be checking GSC on a daily too. 😀

First job of the morning, then onto rank checking, both are addictive!
