Do the majority of top blogs ask money for guest posts?
Posted by seohelper on April 9, 2020 at 9:46 pmI understand that “important blogs” is vague, but I mean do high-ranked blogs in any niche ask for money for guest posts or do they offer money?
Or is there often no money exchanged?

GuestApril 9, 2020 at 9:56 pmIf you’re offering quality content, I don’t see why they would request additional resources from you. Also, paying for backlinks is heavily frowned upon by Google, and highly discouraged.

GuestApril 9, 2020 at 10:18 pmDepends. I charge anywhere between $50 to $500 for placement or guest posting on a few of the sites I maintain but that’s because they have a lot of value. I work routinely with clients where we trade product for guest posting and sometimes money. The majority of the time sites I find where I want to place a back link will charge money. However, the more you look and how you look will determine what you will need to spend or trade.
There are a lot of diamonds in the rough out there…sites with value that are owned or managed by people that aren’t aware of the value of their site and content. Trick is finding them and it’s mostly determined by your niche.

GuestApril 9, 2020 at 10:45 pm“Guest post” is just a euphemism for do-follow link. Neither guest nor host really cares about the content of the post. The host might get some pageviews from it if it ranks well, but no one expects that. The only one being benefited is the guest that’s getting a desirable backlink.
So, yes – any place worth having a backlink from is a place that can and should charge for it.

GuestApril 10, 2020 at 4:22 amQuality blogs will never ask you for money because it’s against Google TOS, and no quality blog wants to risk getting penalized for selling links.
If someone is asking you for money for a do-follow link, it means he is willing to break the Google’s TOS and guidelines, and if it does it for you, it will do it for someone else and so on. Make of that what you want.

GuestApril 10, 2020 at 7:17 amIt depends on the blog, but, most guest bloggers are doing it for the networking experience and the potential to have new readers click through to their own blog or website. There are some guest blogging opportunities out there that do pay, but, they are also sometimes hard to come by and/or have lots of competition.
