Do all social media platform algorithms bias towards native video over external vid?
So…
I’ve seen first hand evidence from my own clients that the same video uploaded to (say) LinkedIn will far outperform the same video shared as as YouTube link or embed. The difference is quite remarkable.
I believe I posted that here before and the response was “well duh …. the LI algorithm is trying to encourage people to upload vid to their servers rather than take them off platform so that’s to be expected.”
My question is: does this also apply to Twitter and Reddit which also have native video options (although those are heavily biased towards shorts and vertical video)? And are we *assuming* that this is the case or – given that companies don’t disclose algorithms and their changes – is this all educated guesswork?
