display:none repeating content on canonical pages: any issues?
Hey fellow SEOs!
I'm using a Query Loop block on an archive-like page (it's technincally a single page) to make an archive-like feed that includes all posts from a particular taxonomy.
When I use pagination with the Query Loop block though, all of the paginated results include the same content as the first page, meaning the content that came before the Query Loop block e.g. images, text, etc. I'd like to exclude this content on all of the pages after the first.
It was suggested that I use some display:none CSS to hide this content. I've always believed that hiding a large amount of content using this CSS is bad practice and asking for a penalty from search engines. That being said, all of the paginated results beyond the first page are canonical though so perhaps it's not a big deal?
Would love to hear some thoughts on the matter!
