Discrepancy on Google Ads between clicks shown in “Overview” dashboard and clicks shown in “Search terms”

    Hi all,

On my Google Ads account, I can see a discrepancy when it comes to number of impressions / clicks. On my “Overview” dashboard (fyi I still use the former appearance design), I can see 253 clicks, 2,330 impressions for the custom period 8-16 october.

However, when going to “Search terms” tab, I can see for the same period of time, a total number of 129 clicks and 1,077 impressions.

I made sure I hadn’t left any other filters.

Do you know why there’s such a discrepancy? Where are the remaining 124 clicks?

    Thanks

Search term reports don’t show all clicks. Google claims that search terms without enough activity won’t show “in order to keep with our standards on data privacy”. I don’t buy the reasoning, but you will never see 100% of you clicks in a search term report.

I find that with broad keywords and phrase keywords i also have a lot of hidden search term(50%). When i use exact match keywords 90% of the keywords are visible. What also helps is more ad groups and less keywords per ad group (Around 10).
