Hey there, I have been a social media manager since 2009, and I recently got laid off (Thanks Twitter, and A.I.) as I am applying for Social Media Manager jobs, I sometimes see a request for a portfolio, but I have never created one, so any advice here is good advice to me! I have some HTML knowledge, so I could actually create a very pretty interactive web page if I had to, but I'd prefer something more akin to a PDF that I can add or upload with my resume. Do any of you have great examples of a portfolio for a Social Media Manager? I did some minimal 'design' work (Usually just manipulating in Canva) and I have done a lot of Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere video editing, which would be nice to highlight. DO they just want screen grabs of previous Posts I created? Are they interested in the "Likes" and Comments data beneath the post? Or are they only looking for design, graphics and art / copy? Thanks to ANYONE who replies.

In a SMM portfolio you have to showcase essentially a before and after with your clients. What growth have you achieved? How have you achieved those results? You can search SMM portfolio examples on pinterest. I did mine in canva.

A portfolio is a “best of” of your work. How you want to showcase that is up to you.

I have my portfolio as a website with embedded links to the posts and videos. I also have a PDF with images and links. It entails a wide variety of niches (Automotive, FMCGs, political party, non profit…) and highlights what the objective of the campaign/work was and what the result has been (**public data only!**: Views, Engagements, Awards won for the campaign).

Hey! For your portfolio, include examples of posts you created, like screenshots or links. It’s good to show some engagement data, like likes and comments, to show how well your posts performed. Highlight your design work from Canva, Photoshop, and videos from Adobe Premiere. A clean PDF layout is great, but you can also consider a simple website if you want!

Build a Gondola account— it lets you track all your content in one place, no matter which of your current or former employees published it (full disclosure: I run gondola so I’m biased here lol but think you’d love it)
