Created new campaigns w/ “Maximize Conversions”, but getting almost 0 impressions

Posted by stjduke on December 22, 2022 at 4:22 pm

I’ve always been a Manual CPC guy, but I’ve heard some of you have had success simply starting a campaign off with Max Conversions, then setting a target CPA later after data has accumulated.

However, I’ve had it running for 2 days and am getting like 20-30 impressions per day. This is on $65/day budget, wide open schedule, and even some BROAD match keywords like “kitchen renovation”. This is a region of 400,000 people…I imagine there should be more traffic than that.

    Any tips?

You can try Max Clicks with a CPC cap. Sometimes that’s a way to get a lot of initial traffic if other bidding methods aren’t working.

AI might be scared to run and not get conversions. Could try changing the conversion objective to a more frequent conversion like Add to Cart to juice the AI learning.

Do you have any conversions yet? Google recommends making sure you have >12 conversions in the account before moving to that strategy.

For a new campaign, go with manaual bidding strategies and then slowly move towards Max conversions
