  Create an Instagram account that does not appear in local recommendations?

  I want to make a separate Instagram account for my artwork but I don’t want instagram to recommend it to local followers in my area. (I want honest feedback and creative expression and would just not prefer my friends or family to be recommended to follow or for it to show up in their feed). Can I use a VPN to accomplish this? is it location based?

  Can’t you just set your location in your profile, and choose your location individually in your posts?

  There is a setting for this. You can turn off that your profile gets listed as a rec
