I don’t have a lot of experience with Teams and Zoom (using the interface and features) and mostly have used them for joining work meetings and that’s it. I’ve used Discord (via Reddit) for the most part and am familiar with how that works. The only thing, I have a new group of people that may be more familiar with using Teams and Zoom, so can those platforms function like Discord? I know with Discord you just use usernames and your email etc is not visible and that would be best for this group/privacy. So can Teams and Zoom work like that?

I think Zoom can function like that but it’s not a social media site. You can set up calls and chats within those calls but it’s not a great instant messaging platform.

For Teams there may be a way to make it anonymous but it’s so corporate. It’s also associated with your Microsoft account which requires certain personal info.

My question is why use these corporate platforms for something Discord is already good at? Teams is such a hassle and costly and zoom doesn’t have the same features.
