    Hey everyone,

    So a quick technical question,

I have a website that was hacked with a Chinese spam thing. It happened a few times and I just finally was able to resolve once and for all and I'm building a new website now to replace the old one.

However, the website dropped 90% on Google. It even shows things like 40K 404s now.

Is launching the new website on the same domain alone going to fix the issue? Is there anything technical I need to be doing?

Just looking for insights, help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Google should be able to bounce back, but you need to fix your security on the website.

This is a hack and will flush them out of GSC so you can stop panicking (and there’s absolutely no need to)

Setup a sacrifical page – e.g. 404cemetry.php. Grab a list of the URLs and put them in a Google sheet and redirect them to your sacrificial page. Put this 301 list into your redirect or htaccess file and then ask Google to validate the list. You can also use API calls to GSC-API and do a removal request as well. They should be gone in a week.

A client was hacked and posted hundreds of “Malaysian casino” links everywhere. They hired a hack expert on Upwork to deal with the issue, cost about $150 total as he is India based. Never had the issue again as he made sure the site was secure after.

If you DM me I can send you his profile.
