    Hello All:

Would love to get some thoughts here. I have a client that tends to get caught up in the idea of “shiny new things” as opposed to working on the old. She has a site (10 years+ old) that has good authority and rankings for the very niche software terms she uses.

Recently, the company started moving in a different direction with a related, but less enterprise level version of the software. We promptly build 5 new pages around terms related to the new software, which (and once again these are niche terms) have gained ranking.

She now wants to make an entirely new site and move the 5 new pages over to it and start from scratch.

I am trying to put together some pros and cons for her on doing this, and would love any input other SEOs have. My impulse is to make a HubPage on her site just for this product with content related to the product terms.

The example she gave me was that Intuit has a separate URL where Credit Karma lives. She also feels that her company name does not explicitly say the product (i.e. the URL is brand name without a ton of meaning except to those familiar with the brand- this has not stopped us from ranking for other terms).

Love any thoughts other have on this (and thanks in advance for reading my long post).
